Time flies by so quickly. Sorry for the delay in posting. Sammy continues to do well. She attends school every day, goes to physical therapy twice/week, has lots of playdates... With all of Sammy and Becca's activities, we are hardly ever home!
Greatest highlight over the last few weeks (or shall we say year and 1/2), was the American Girl Doll fashion show that the girls participated in last weekend. Rebecca was transformed from quasi-tomboy into a mature, poised runway model. And Sammy was fearless. She strutted her stuff on the runway using Miss Walker (the prosthetic leg) and only one crutch. She even held a doll as she walked and waved to the crowd. It was great.
We have a lot to look forward to within the next few weeks. Sammy will begin private dance lessons and the girls are in a play together next month.
When Samantha was at the height of her treatment last year, feeling so awful she couldn't get out of bed for days, we would talk about all of the wonderful things we would do once she felt better. Samantha made a comprehensive list of places she would like to visit and people she would like to meet. One by one we are getting through the list. Next thing to check off the list will be a visit to Mexico. We are looking forward to going on a brief cruise with Grammy and Bubba later this month and will stop in Cozumel for the day to snorkel and hopefully swim with dolphins (that was on the list, too).
Below are some pictures from the fashion show. The picture on top is of the Rotman Sisters and the Lane Sisters at the circus. Sparks fly when the 4 of them are together!
Thanks so much for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. Keep it coming!
Shari and David
