A Successful Drop Off at Camp

Today was a bit hectic but the girls got off to camp without a hitch. This will be a brief blog update because I just want to relax. The girls would love getting mail from their friends. Their address is:

Camp Young Judaea
Bunk G-5 (for Becca) or Bunk G-1 (for Sammy)
9 Camp Road
Amherst, NH 03031

If anyone wants to send a package, please do not send any type of food or gum. It's not allowed in the cabins.

Sammy's cabin seems great. 4 counselors, 10 campers. As much as I worried about dropping Sammy off, I was more worried about the 9 year old bunkmate from Israel who hardly speaks any English! She and Sammy have already planned to teach each other their native language... I shudder at the thought of what Sammy will teach that sweet, young girl!

Becca also has 4 counselors; 11 campers. Lots of first time campers which is great.

We will try to get radiation started this week. Sammy is not complaining of much pain but her arm is swelling and we don't want her to have pain.

The Camp Young Judaea administration is composed of remarkable people. They are thrilled to have both girls at camp, medical issues/uncertainties and all. Their goal, as is ours, is to provide the most wonderful and normal camp experience as possible. They even suggested that their staff transport Sammy to daily radiation treatments to avoid that homesickness thing!!! Of course I came up with a number of compelling reasons as to why THE MOTHER should transport her child to those appointments.

So much for a brief blog entry.

Thank you so much for all of the emails and prayers. We will update more soon.

Hi Rotmans....I am so happy the girls are off to camp. I am so sure they will have a great time. I know you will miss them terribly, but having some relax time will do you good. You know how they say the best thing you can do for your children is take care of their Mommy and Daddy. So realax and enjoy....you deserve it!!!!
