Now We're REALLY Home

Sammy FINALLY made it home today from the hospital. She feels great and is doing well. Every week until early December, Sammy must go to Dartmouth Mon. - Fri. for radiation treatment. She'll try to get to school as much as possible. It's too bad the drive to Dartmouth takes more than an hour each way...

Chemotherapy is next scheduled for Tue., November14th.

When we returned home today, there was not a single leaf on our yard. THANK YOU to all members of the Bow PTO who helped with the Fall clean-up day. To top it off, the "guys in the hood" worked more on Sammy's ramp. THANK YOU! And, of course, the ongoing meal delivery is so appreciated. Even though Sammy and Shari have been absent quite a bit lately, David and Rebecca eat the meals that are delivered and are able to freeze some things and deliver others to Dartmouth.

Radiation is going well for Sammy. She sings along to various CDs throughout the whole thing and gets to pick a prize from a gift basket on Fridays.

Sammy continues to be an inspiration to all of us. She is so brave and so strong. Ask her some time to see her tattoos. Not only did she have to endure the tattoo parlor at Dartmouth, but she also had to take daily shots in her leg that stung a lot. When she felt well, Sammy tried to spend a lot of time out of her hospital room doing arts and crafts, reading, socializing, etc. During this last visit, Sammy was fortunate to meet a new friend, Meghan. Meghan is a 9 year old dancer from Merrimack who lights up a room when she dances. We hope that one day soon Sammy will dance side by side with Meghan.

That's the scoop for now. Thank you for checking the website and your ongoing love and support.

Welcome home! So great to have you back in Bow. Hope you and Rebecca liked Jack's "book" about a trip with him to NYC. He had fun writing it.

Take good care. Hope to see you soon.
