Hello. Sammy returned home last night, just in time to hand out some candy to trick or treaters. It is so great to be back home. Sammy trick or treated at Dartmouth Medical Center and had a lot of fun.
We're not sure whether Sammy will make it into school this week. A side effect from chemo can be a "drop in your blood count." Basically, what that means is that if Sammy catches someone's cold, it is REALLY hard for her body to fight off the infection so she'd probably end up getting really sick. We also have to have the visiting nurse come to the house twice a week to draw labs and, on top of that, go up to Dartmouth for daily radiation. We'll figure out how to coordinate all of thisand definitely get her to school when she can because she truly enjoys going.
The next round of chemo should go better for Sammy. Sammy's doctor is fairly confident that Sammy will handle the medication more easily next time.
We thank everyone for your ongoing thoughts and support. The meals and e-mails never stop coming. THANK YOU! We came home last night to a beautifully built "Blakey Original" wheelchair ramp. Sammy smiled from ear to ear and insisted on trying it out. It worked great.
There were also grins from ear to ear when we took a stretch limo, courtesy of David's office (not taxpayers' money ... don't worry) to the circus a couple of weeks ago. My (Shari's) favorite part of the day, however, was joyriding in the limo after the show with sammy and becca, their neighborhood friends and my neighborhood friends, too. The ladies sipped champagne while the kids ordered mcflurries at the mcdonald's drive-thru.
In the near future, we'll post some pictures of all of our recent adventures.
Please don't hesitate to call or email. Shari's email is thechach@comcast.net; David's is drotman@mcao.net; Sammy's is lildev21@comcast.net; and becca's is rebecca-30@comcast.net.

We're sorry we "just missed" you and Sammy during "trick or treating" last night....., but glad to hear that Sammy was still able to participate and pass out some treats. Please know that you continue to be in in our thoughts and prayers.
Love, The Goulds
WELCOME HOME Sammy!! So happy to have you back in Bow and thrilled to hear that you got some trick or treating in and passed out treats. Next time you have a limo, don't forget to drive by our house and beep the horn (be happy to share some champagne, Shari!!).
Take good care and we will be by soon with more of Jack's famous drawings. He made up some "Daily Language Review" homework for me (Jean), but I don't think we will share that with you........although he did help me complete mine.
Rebecca - let us know when you want Jack over to play by the brook again.
Many hugs to you all, Jack, Jean and John
Shoshana-
So glad to hear you're home. We met your kitty on Sunday. What do you feed him? Yikes!
Any leftover candy?
Love,
Arlene, Mitchell, Julian, and Joshua
