Well, informally that is.
The last few days have been pretty busy. We spend a lot of time at home but we spend a good amount of time out and about, too.
School: no attendance since the first day. Not the biggest deal. We explain to Sammy that her health is the most important thing right now. She can always learn math facts later. Mrs. Bennert dropped off some materials for Sammy to review at home. Becca is lobbying HARD to be Sammy's home school teacher. I would LOVE for Becca to be the teacher because I don't understand the curriculm. I have even offered to pay Becca. Sammy is not convinced it's a good idea. I'm still working on it.
Family: Having lots of fun. Went swimming with Daddy today. Introduced Bubba to Puppy Love and forced him to eat a hot dog at 10:45 AM; invited Grammy to "You're Fired" where she offered to pick up the tab (what a fool!).
Food: Oh, those steroids... the good thing about steroids is that they don't destroy taste buds. Imagine being starving all the time and not even being able to enjoy the food you're eating! Thankfully, Sammy can still appreciate food. To add some adventure to our meals out (because I CANNOT go to Moritomo twice/week anymore), we have decided to try ALL of the Japanese steakhouses in NH. The title to this blog entry was chosen because of this newest adventure.
So far we have tried a couple of other hibachi grills (thanks for joining us today, Grammy) and Moritomo takes the lead. Tomorrow we have our sites set on a place up in Lebanon, NH. Let's see how they do...
Medical: At our request, Sammy had a follow up appointment at Dana Farber yesterday. We are trying to figure out how to best manage the side effects of the medication Sammy must take. Fatigue, body image, restlessness. Dana Farber is looking at reducing some of the medication but only with great caution.
Becca: she is the best kid ever (well, she ties with Sammy).
Your ongoing support and prayers are so appreciated. Please bear with me; I don't always return emails or phone calls in a timely fashion though I appreciate each and every one so much. We are all stressed out, exhausted, overwhelmed. Just when things start to seem normal, something crazy flares up again (maybe I'll tell you the story about our rabbit, Mr. Black, one day).
The meal delivery has been a life saver. Having a variety of food on hand for Sammy has been so wonderful. THANK YOU so much.
Until next time...

Shari,
You are doing a great job managing everything. Time out in the fresh air and trying new things sounds fun. I can't wait unitl the next update and the story of your rabbit someday.

Hey Rotman's! Greetings from Illinois! We try to read your blog at least every other day to catch up on your latest adventures. We also keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Thanks for doing the blog and keeping us all informed. Hope Sammy is back at school soon! Just to let you know, Illinois doesn't hold a candle to New Hampshire, but if you ever want to visit, we will show you Chicago!
Love,
Angela Finch

OMG - you will love Koyo in Lebanon, it really is our family's favorite. I feel guilty saying that because we love Cheri and Nancy at Moritomos! Enjoy yourself!
