Sammy Didn't Want to Come Home from NYC

Tonight we returned home from our trip to NYC. As we packed the car full of stuff, Samantha continued to offer to stay behind in NYC so that we would have room in the car. She pointed out the fact that she could get her chemo in NYC...

We had a great time in the city. Many thanks to cousins Debbie and Bill who let us use their apartment! Highlights included a trip to Toys 'R Us in Times Square, American Girl Place, Statue of Liberty, Lion King, and a show at a chidren's theatre. Shari's employer, the Office of Public Guardian, collected an insane amount of money forthe girls to spend at American Girl Place and that is EXACTLY what the girls did. THANK YOU OPG!!! Thank you, also, to Grammy and Bubba, who got us Broadway tickets. What a great show. Something we will talk about for many years to come.

Starting chemo again on Monday. Still waiting for a surgery date...

Thank you for checking in and praying for us. We are so blessed.

Shari and David

So thrilled that you had such a great time in NYC! You all certainly deserved it. Thanks for the wonderful report.

We hope chemo goes okay this week -- perhaps blueberry muffins will be in order upon your return??

Take good care. Love, Jack, Jean and John

Hi Sammy. Sounds like you had a great time in NYC. You and I have never met but I am Rebecca's Hebrew teacher. Good luck with your upcoming surgery and come and say "hi" to me the next time you are in Hebrew school. Also say "hi" to Mom, Dad, and Rebecca.

Hi Everyone -
T and Joey are so thrilled that you got to do all those amazing things - especially the American Girl Doll store - we can't wait to hear all the details and see what you purchased. T and Joey want you to know how much they love their bitty babies and Samantha doll. We are all so glad that Sammy had all the energy to do everything! Not to mention the rest of you! We love you and can't wait to see you!
Eric, Janey, T, Joey and a player to be named soon

Hi Sammy,
You rock. I heard you and Hannah had a great visit and that you got your own goody bag and cake from her birthday! Way to go. I'll never forget the wild birthday party you had at the gym. Do you remember how naughty your mom was sending everyone home with poppers in their goody bags! That was so funny. We would love to come for a short visit. Brinkley really really wants to see your rabbits. We have tons of carrots, so let us know when we can bring some over.-Love Lisa, Brinkley's mom

Hi Sammy and family,
I just got your blog address from a friend at work. You sound like you hit New York by storm. Did you leave anything for anyone else at the American Girl store? Sammy, you have probably met me once in your life but please know that I think of you daily and wish you nothing but good health. Say hi to your mom for me...
