We Want to Go Home!!!

Hello. Sammy and Shari are up at Dartmouth for the new chemo regimen. It has not gone well for Sammy, who has experienced some pretty awful side effects from the medication. We are fortunate, however, to be at Dartmouth Medical Center where lots of specialists can quickly run in to help. We hope to return home on Sunday. The next round of chemo will not be for 2-3 weeks so that Sammy's body has a chance to recover. In the interim, however, Sammy will be starting daily radiation treatments next week at Dartmouth so, on the days she is not at Dartmouth as an inpatient, we will drive up for the treatments. After Sammy completes the second round of chemo, films will be taken to determine whether the tumor has responded well to the new medicine. We are hopeful that it will, and that Sammy will then be ready for surgery.

Sammy never ceases to amaze us. She is so brave and strong. Rebecca has been such a wonderful support to all of us. Both girls are growing up quickly.

Gotta go... Sammy just woke up and is yelling at me (Shari) to get back into bed with her... If I don't oblige, I'll get a tongue lashing (Sammy's not feeling all that great tonight).

We will keep everyone posted should anything new occur.

Thanks for checking in and for all of your prayers.

xo
