A Good Week

Overall, this was a good week for Ms. Sammy. Her greatest achievement by far was getting over her fear of the shots in the leg she must have on a daily basis. Similarly, it is one of Shari's greatest achievements to date ... getting over the fear of giving the shots.

Another wonderful event to report: Sammy was feeling well enough to attend Becca's play. Becca is quite the actress and comedian. Watching Becca on stage lifted all of our spirits.

Other good news: Sammy completed her course radiation and hopefully will not need any more.

Great news: Sammy started piano lessons this week and is really excited about learning to play music on the piano Grandma loved so much.

There's always something not so great, too: looks like there's a fracture in the leg bone right above the tumor. Because of that, Sammy has a bit more discomfort and isn't using the crutches so much.

The Plan: On Monday, 12/11, Sammy is scheduled to meet with several doctors in Boston. Sammy's group of doctors at Dartmouth and Mass. General are reviewing the results of recent MRI and CT scans, assessing as best they can the leg tumor and lung nodules' response to the newest chemotherapy, and trying to determine how best to proceed at this point.

As always, we will keep you posted.

Thank you for everything. There's no way we could get through this without your ongoing support.

Shari and David
