Sammy is home! She came home last night and did very well at the hospital. As it was explained to Sammy, the good news is that she wouldn't be in the hospital long. The bad news, is that the chemo would make her white blood cell count REALLY drop so she'll have to have daily shots for the next couple of weeks. She dreads the shots but she's had to do it before and she can do it again.
No more chemo for about 3 weeks until her body is ready.
In the meantime, radiation continues next week.
There are some small "nodules" in Sammy's lungs. That's one of the reasons why surgery on her leg was delayed. We all hope that the chemo Sammy just started will cause the nodules to disappear on their own. If they don't, a surgeon will be able to remove them. That will have to happen before Sammy has leg surgery.
So, day by day we go. Sammy is glad to be home and will try to get to school when she feels well enough and itsn't en route to radiation!
Thanks for checking in,
Shari and David

Dear Shoshana,
We made Chanukah decorations and played draydel in class today. Remember when we did that last year? I think you always spun a gimel! We miss your shining smile at TBJ!
Love,

Hi Sammy,
It must be great to be home in your own bed. You are a real trooper through all of this. I hope you enjoy the holidays with your family and friends. Give your mom a big hug for me.

Sammy - Welcome Home again!! Sorry about the shots, but you have been so brave throughout this whole ordeal that we know you can do it. And we know that Becca continues to be a great big sis for you -- you both ROCK!
All of our fingers are crossed -- it makes it a little hard for Jack to draw and play piano, but we will make it work!!
Day by day, you all continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
xoxo Jack, Jean and John
