We can't believe our friends have pulled it off. For those of you who have not yet heard, we are blessed with some friends who, despite their own crazy lives, have found the time, energy and love to work on a last minute project to send our family to the Dancing With the Stars Season Finale. Heather Mills was able to score us some tickets to the show. As of now, we're not sure whether we will attend Monday's show on 5/21 or Tuesday's show on 5/22, or both. Heather has stated that if she can't get us tickets to the show(s), she can stick us in the green room and get us behind the scenes. Thank you so much to everyone who is helping out with all of the details and to those who have donated to the account. This whole cancer thing has been the worst thing we could ever possibly imagine going through. Despite that, there have been so many "good things" that have come out of it, too. First and foremost, we have grown stronger as a family. Second, we have learned first hand what an impact the smallest act of kindness can have on so many people. Our faith in humanity is so strong. Lots of other good things, too.
Anyway, other news:
Very exciting: Sammy's leg is almost ready. One more adjustment this week at Next Step and she'll be off! It will take some time to learn how to walk, but Sammy is really excited.
Medical news: this has been the most challenging of late. David and I have spoken with a number of doctors about how to proceed with the treatment of Sammy's Osteosarcoma. After much thought and research, we have decided to proceed with thoracotomies down at Boston Children's Hospital. The chief of pediatric surgery down there will be working with Sammy. We don't have details or dates yet. This news is really "hot off the press." So, we'll proceed with surgery and then most likely follow up with some other medicine... Sammy is getting nervous but is feeling pretty good. She attended school today and has enjoyed lots of play dates.
I think that covers most everything.

Does this mean that David can now add a brown suit to his limited wardrobe? Does his brown belt come with any accessories...such as shoes, socks, underwear? What will David have to do to earn a "blue" or "black" belt? And will these come with accessories or does he have to acquire matching outfits? When I got my brown belt, I already owned a pair of matching pants; old, bur serviceable...like me.

OMG. DWTS! U R SO COOLLLLLLLLL!! I hope you guys don't mind, but I put REBECCA'S name in the paper (with Sammy)in a blurb about your trip!!(The Hippo May17-23 on the stands now, page 9)--seriously, I don't think any boys will try to become your boyfriends between now and then. Besides, they can't afford either one of you and you are both way too cool to just have one bf anyhow so there.
