We're Home!

It's so good to be home! Sammy is doing pretty well. Yesterday she used a walker with the assistance of a physical therapist. Because of the soreness on both sides of her body, a walker is what Sammy will be using for a while. Next week she'll return to HealthSouth for outpatient physical therapy. The goal is to get her up and going on her prosthetic leg ASAP!!!

There are two new additions to our family: Max and June Strempfer Rotman!!! As soon as we returned from the hospital last night, the girls used their best powers of persuasion to convince their parents that it was time to pick up the kittens. And so we did. The kittens are adorable and we will post pictures as soon as we either learn how to or get Krista to do it :)

And just when you thought it couldn't get any better... Sammy returned home to find an autographed acoustic guitar waiting for her, sent from her FAVORITE Rascal Flatt... Joe Don (the lead guitarist). Because of some crazy coincidental connections of which I will not mention (because you know what can happen...), the girls will be meeting the Rascal Flatts at the concert this month. This is just so exciting. The girls really love their music; in fact, Sammy sang "Mayberry" at Camp Sunshine's talent show. For those of you who don't know the band, you really have to check them out. Start with their first CD, Melt. Great stuff. So, THANK YOU Joe Don and the others who made it all happen.

Lots of laundry to do today but it should get done because the girls are so busy playing with the kittens.

We'll keep you updated.

Hi Sammy, Becca, Shari and David,
I am so glad you are home and can look forward to a great summer. It must feel great to have both surgeries behind you. Now, on with the fun!
I think of you so often and am sending love and laughter your way.
