A busy day today. Sammy made it through her first day of fourth grade. She rode the bus in (which meant waking at 6:20 AM and eating her first chicken caesar at 6:25)and stayed in school the whole day. while it was great seeing all of her friends and teachers, the day did wipe sammy out physically. she came home, took a nap, and then asked to go to Moritomo for dinner (do NOT send us gift cards to Moritomo. I mention it only because I am "journaling;" we dine at the hibachi grill twice/week). sammy was feeling a bit dizzy this afternoon but persuasively explained to mom that the moritomo "show" helps the dizziness. and so we went to dinner...
david took yesterday off from work to take sammy to canobie lake park. that was an adventure that i was NOT willing to endure. as i explained to sammy, i don't think it's wise for someone with a tumor on the skull to be in the hot sun all day for the purpose of engaging in spinning rides. to my surprise, sammy and david had a great time at the park riding the electric cars, electric swings, merry go round... i'm so glad they went. they laughed all day. sammy said it was a cancer free day. now, unfortunately, david and sammy insist on going to the hopkinton state fair this weekend. i will take no part in it. no way will i go. ironically, i'm sure they will have an incredible time.
while david and sammy were at canobie, i took becca to her dentist's office to get BRACES!!! poor becca. she has such a flake for a mom. i told her (because I believed) not to worry, the dentist was only going to replace the rubber spacers with metal ones. nope. becca left with a full mouth of metal. call me crazy, i think her teeth already look straighter! becca handled the last minute notice extremely well. :)
so that's been our activity the last few days. sammy has been feeling well but, as i stated earlier, a full day at school is exhausting. i'm not sure what the remainder of the week will look like for ms. sammy.
thank you for your ongoing support, well wishes and prayers.

Way to go, Sammy! Fourth grade. Hope you didn't get any homework on the first day. Your dad was the brave one for all those rides. I like the roller coasters. My stomach can't take all the twisty/turny ones anymore.
Did your mom pack enough chicken caesar salads for the day? Do you like salmon? Grilled salmon is good on caesar salads, too.
We are hoping the this weekend at the fair it is sunny and warm so you and your dad can have a blast.
Sending hugs to you.

It was great seeing you at Canobie. We were also there having a great laugh on the last day of summer vacation. Glad to hear also that your first day of fourth grade was a blast. Keep smiling kid, you've got the most beautiful smile! (As for Becca, hope those braces don't hurt so much that you can still smile!)
Hi all,
I am so glad first day of school went well. As far as ride and parks, I love them so have a blast when you can for me and Becca, I also had braces and it's not that bad once they are on, hang in there and plan on soft meals at times, but most of all it's not that bad. Shari, hang in there, I love your writing and it helps you and informs us. I love and miss you all and can't wait for the next update.

Morimotos is one of my favorites! Although, I like the sushi myself! You never know, I might just join you for one of your bi-weekly visits:)
Loved seeing you in school, Sammy! It's great to have everyone back. Your smile is contagious. Thanks!
Becca,
Keep up that HOMEwork;) Glad to hear things are going well. You'll have to stop over and model your braces!
Love,

you all rock. I think everyone should live day by day and to the fullest. What a happier place it would be. Rather than worrying.
