She's Coming Home!!!!

We are OUT OF HERE today! Sammy's nurse if finishing all the paperwork and we should be on the road by 2 PM. Samantha is still experiencing some pain issues (the phantom pain appears to be the biggest challenge right now) but she is really doing well. She crutched all the way from her room to the playroom this morning. If Sammy could have her way, we would drop her off at school this afternoon on the way home. She really wants to show the class how she wraps her left leg/residual limb/not sure what to call it. So, we expect she will be back to school very soon.

Not sure yet when next chemo will be, but probably sooner rather than later. We will keep you posted.

This is SO COOL! Your friends will be really really excited to see you, and I'm sure everyone sleeping in their own beds again will be a treat. Congratulations on getting out of there, you know they wouldn't let you do it if they thought Sammy, Rebecca and her family weren't ready for it.

We miss seeing you, but it sounds like you'll be back in action, SOON.

Wow! Sammy is an amazing child. I've been saying it all along and believe Sammy is going to grow up to be an inspiration to all other children facing this horrible disease. She has the personality, the brains and without question the courage.

For the Rotman Family:
Sammy, you are an amazing person and sooo brave! We have been thinking about the ENTIRE family constantly and send our positive thoughts in your time of recovery. We remember how NICE it was to get out of the hospital that we spent 1 entire month at! We are glad the surgery went well and please, please understand that we are available for ANY/ALL questions or just to talk anytime. Jon experienced phantom pains which were very hard for us to relate to because we haven't been through an amputation and we had no idea how they felt except that they were very intense and then eventually subsided. We would love to come and visit/talk when Sammy feels up to having us as well. Sammy is truly a gift from God! Keep your positive attitudes and never lose hope! There will be good and bad days so just make the best of them all! We are sooo proud of you Sammy and hope that you do go back to school very soon! Your friends can't wait to see you!!!
Sincerely, Brad, Melynda, Jon and Matt Parker
